Imidacloprid 35% EC (Confidor) is a systemic neonicotinoid insecticide effective against pistachio psyllids, citrus leaf miners, aphids, thrips, and other key agricultural pests. Suitable for fruit trees, vegetables, and ornamental plants.

Imidacloprid 35% EC (Confidor) 500 ml package
  • Imidacloprid 35% EC (Confidor) is a systemic insecticide with both contact and ingestion activity, highly effective against key sucking pests in agricultural crops. It is particularly effective against pistachio psyllids, tobacco aphids, cottonfield aphids, citrus leaf miners in young trees (3–5 years old), and grape leafhoppers.

Mode of Action

  • Imidacloprid is a neonicotinoid insecticide with two isomers. It acts as a neurotoxin by disrupting nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the central nervous system of insects, causing rapid mortality. The systemic property allows absorption through roots and leaves, providing long-lasting protection.
Applications
  • Aphids in ornamental plants and nurseries, including via seed treatment with specialized formulations.
  • Agricultural crops such as corn, tobacco, canola, citrus leaf miners, thrips, and leafhoppers.
  • Can be applied through soil or irrigation due to its systemic activity.
  • Seed treatment formulations (70% WS), known commercially as Gaucho, are used against aphids, leafhoppers, flea beetles, and thrips.
