Insecticide Lufenuron (Mach) Behavaran
  • A contact and systemic insecticide or larvicide and acaricide with selective action from the benzoyl urea group, a mixture of two isomers that inhibits chitin synthesis and disrupts larval molting.
  • Lufenuron is a growth regulator insecticide from the benzoyl urea family and is very effective for controlling moth larvae, moths, and insect eggs. Due to its high safety for humans and the environment, it has a special place in sustainable and greenhouse agriculture. If you are looking for a low-risk, long-lasting, and IPM-compatible pesticide, Lufenuron is one of the best choices.
  How it works
  1. An insecticide from the Benzoylureas family that prevents the formation of chitin in the insect’s body, preventing it from shedding its skin and growing normally. Unlike many chemical poisons, lufenuron has no direct nerve effect and is therefore considered safer for humans, animals and beneficial insects.
  2. Lufenuron works by inhibiting the synthesis of chitin in the insect body. Chitin is a major component of the external body wall and skin of pests. For this reason, lufenuron is a long-acting, persistent and very safe poison. Uses
  3. In Iran, it is used to control pests such as leaf miner flies in vegetables and greens and citrus rust mites, and in other countries, it is used to control leaf miner flies in ornamental flowers and greenhouse greens, red mites in greenhouse peppers and strawberries, and western thrips in a variety of flowers and ornamental plants.

  • If you are looking for a low-risk, long-lasting, and IPM-compatible pesticide, Lufenuron is one of the best choices. It is effective on larvae but not on adult insects. Spraying is done simultaneously with flying insects and repeated one week after the first spray. In areas with active natural enemies, the use of this insecticide is preferable.
  • Its use is effective on pests that have become resistant to organophosphates and pyrethroids. It is used to combat the first generation of apple worm in mountainous areas. In pear psyllium, if there is a lot of honeydew, it should be rinsed before spraying. The Karnes period for apples and pears is 60 days. It has no adverse effect on natural enemies.
