Pertilachlor is a pre-emergent and selective herbicide for rice fields that controls narrow-leaved weeds, including sedge, by inhibiting germination. Suitable for post-transplant use with a stable effect and high efficiency in controlling invasive weeds in rice.

  • Pertilachlor (Rifit) Behavaran
  • One liter package

  • Selective herbicide, against broadleaf weeds such as sedges and grasses in rice fields.
  • Pertilachlor is a pre-emergent and selective herbicide for paddy fields that controls narrow-leaved weeds, including sedge, by inhibiting germination. Suitable for post-transplant use with a stable effect and high efficiency in controlling invasive weeds in rice.
How it works
  • Selective herbicide from the chloracetamide group and an inhibitor of long-chain fatty acid synthesis that prevents cell division. This herbicide is absorbed through the hypocotyl, mesocotyl and coleoptile, and a small amount through the roots.
Uses
  • In other countries, it is used to control annual broadleaf and narrowleaf weeds such as salam and jagan in rice. The use of this herbicide is recommended 6 days after transplanting in rice. So far, no cash period has been recorded for this poison. The use of this herbicide directly in rice will damage the crop. The half-life of the herbicide in the soil is about 30 days.

  • When used, the field water should be constant and stable.
  • In case of heavy rainfall and water runoff from the field, the efficiency will decrease.
  • In fields with high clay or high organic matter, the dose can be slightly higher.
  • Pertilachlor is only recommended for rice fields and use in other crops may cause damage.
  • When using water, it should be kept at 3 to 5 centimeters.
  • Avoid using in fields with very weak or stressed seedlings.
  • Mixing with some alkaline fertilizers or pesticides is not recommended.
  • Prevent the poison from entering streams and running waters.
  • Observe the time interval between spraying and water runoff so that the poison does not get excreted.

  • Pretilachlor is a selective pre-emergence herbicide mainly used in rice cultivation to control annual grasses, sedges, and some broadleaf weeds.
  • It inhibits cell division and growth in germinating weed seedlings, preventing successful emergence.
  • Commercial products are biodegradable and suitable for sustainable agriculture.
  • The herbicide is absorbed primarily through the shoots and roots of young weeds.
  •  Excessive application may affect non-target aquatic organisms and beneficial soil microflora.
