Clodinafop Propargyl 8% EC (Topik) – systemic selective herbicide for wild oats, ryegrass in wheat fields. Post-emergence tillering stage.
Systemic, selective herbicide effective against annual grassy weeds like wild oats, ryegrass, canary grass, and narrow foxtail in wheat fields.
Contact herbicide from the aryloxyphenoxy propionic acid group that inhibits fatty acid synthesis. Absorbed through aerial parts and to some extent roots, translocated via xylem and phloem. Symptoms include yellowing, wilting of leaves, necrosis, and reduced above-ground growth within 1-3 weeks.
Internationally used for annual narrowleaf weeds like wild oats in durum wheat, spring/winter rye, spring/winter wheat, and triticale. Controls annual grasses up to wheat tillering stage end. Apply via aircraft or tractor-mounted sprayers. No pre-harvest interval established. Incompatible with 2,4-D + MCPA but compatible with Granstar. Only broadleaf crops in rotation after Topik-treated fields. Avoid barley fields.
