Green World 12% Chelated Iron Fertilizer, chelated with EDTA, is a product of Behavaran Zarrin Mojdeh Company. This fertilizer also contains 8.5% soluble sodium.
Chelated iron fertilizers specifically address the plant’s iron requirements and effectively correct iron deficiency symptoms. Iron exists in both soluble and insoluble forms in the soil; however, due to reactions with certain elements, it often becomes insoluble and unavailable for root uptake. This issue is more common in soils with high pH.
For this reason, organic molecules known as chelating agents are used in iron fertilizer formulations. There are various chelating agents (such as EDDHA, EDTA, DTPA, and EDDHSA), each of which is effective within a specific soil pH range.
The 12% chelated iron fertilizer contains the EDTA chelating agent and is suitable for use in irrigation systems within a pH range of 3 to 6. It is not recommended for irrigation at higher pH levels; therefore, this fertilizer is mainly applied through foliar spraying.
If your soil pH is high, it is recommended to use stronger chelating agents such as EDDHA or EDDHSA. The best time to apply chelated iron fertilizer is during the growing season, after full leaf development and fruit formation.
