pH Control Solution

Behavaran Zarrin Mozhdeh

pH control solutions are one of the key elements in increasing the efficiency of fertilizers and pesticides in agriculture. By precisely adjusting the acidity of water, these products prevent the decomposition of pesticides, scaling, reduced nutrient absorption, and waste of materials, significantly improving the performance of foliar application.

Behavaran pH Control Solution Packaging: 500 ml and 1000 ml

pH control solutions or acidity regulators (pH Regulators) are substances added to irrigation water or spray tank mixtures to adjust the water’s pH to the optimal range for better absorption of fertilizers, pesticides, and nutrients. Since an inappropriate pH can cause pesticide decomposition, reduced fertilizer efficiency, and sediment formation in the tank, using pH regulators is one of the most essential practices in professional agricultural spraying.

This product lowers the pH and water hardness, improves the solubility of agricultural fertilizers and pesticides, and increases their efficiency. It also helps unclog and clean drippers in drip irrigation systems by removing alkaline deposits.

This solution acidifies and improves the quality of water and nutrient solutions. It plays a positive role in neutralizing bicarbonates, improving soil conditions, and addressing salinity and soil compaction issues. This solution contains Nitrogen and Sulfur Trioxide.

Mode of Action

  • Lowering or raising the water pH to reach the optimal range

  • Preventing alkaline hydrolysis (rapid decomposition of pesticides at high pH)

  • Enhancing better solubility of fertilizers

  • Preventing sediment formation and nozzle clogging

  • Increasing foliar absorption by reducing surface tension (in combined products)

Applications

  • Lowering or raising the water pH to reach the optimal range

  • Preventing alkaline hydrolysis (rapid decomposition of pesticides at high pH)

  • Enhancing better solubility of fertilizers

  • Preventing sediment formation and nozzle clogging

  • Increasing foliar absorption by reducing surface tension (in combined products)

Unfavorable water pH can also cause phytotoxicity (plant burn). Therefore, use Behavaran pH Control Solutions before applying any fertilizers or pesticides.

Properties of non-ionic adjuvants or non-ionic surfactants include:

  • Increasing the absorption rate of pesticides and liquid fertilizers

  • Reducing the washing away of pesticides due to rainfall

  • Reducing the hydrophobicity (water repellency) of leaf surfaces, which leads to maximum spreading, uniform coverage, and reduced wastage of pesticide droplets

  • It also prevents the formation of droplets on leaves that can lead to leaf burn due to the concentration of sunlight.

  • Although many commercial pH-controlled products are safe, the following precautions should be observed:
  • When handling acidic and concentrated forms, wear gloves, a mask, and goggles.
  • pH adjustment should be the first step in the tank, before adding pesticides and fertilizers.
  • Do not make the pH too acidic; this may damage the leaves.
  • Avoid mixing strong acids with alkaline pesticides without consultation.
  • For more sensitive products (flowers and ornamental plants), the pH should be adjusted more carefully.
  • pH solutions are generally low-risk and have no cumulative effect.
  • If using acids, prevent the concentrated solution from entering water sources.
  • Commercial products are biodegradable and suitable for sustainable agriculture.
  • Used containers should be collected according to local regulations.
