1 liter package
  • Ethion 47% EC is a non-systemic insecticide and acaricide with contact action, effective in controlling various scale insects and armored scales on fruit trees.
Mode of Action
  • An organophosphate insecticide and acaricide with ovicidal properties, commonly used in dormant-season spraying. It acts by inhibiting cholinesterase enzymes in the nervous system.

Uses

  • leafhoppers, and other sap-sucking pests in fruit trees, citrus, vineyards, vegetables, cotton, sorghum, and strawberries.
  • Dormant-season applications are typically carried out before bud break on fruit trees. Some early-ripening apple varieties (such as McIntosh) may be sensitive to phytotoxicity. Ethion is not compatible with alkaline products. The pre-harvest interval is 15 days.
  • Summer spraying targets the active mite stages, while winter applications affect the overwintering stages of certain mite species.
  • In dormant-season programs, it is commonly used at 0.2% together with 0.5% horticultural oil (winter oil) before bud break on fruit trees.
